My long-winded bio

Selling real estate has been my full-time career since 2002, but houses and the idea of what makes a home have been a lifelong passion. As a young boy in southern Idaho, I used to spend hours exploring through the new homes being built around my elementary school. I'd read the real estate advertising magazines front to back and you could leave me with my Walkman and a book of architectural renderings for hours. House nerd!

I attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, where I studied Communication, Music and LOI (Life Outside of Idaho). I fell in love with the Northwest, particularly the beauty of both the people and the environment. I moved to Seattle directly from T-town and went to work at Group Health Cooperative, Washington's largest healthcare provider. I started in their eyecare clinics, moved to customer service and later accepted a position as Project Manager in Advertising and Marketing Communication.

One spring day in 2002 I was sitting at my desk and I had an unexpected moment where I thought, "Whatever happened to that dream of real estate?" And that thought wouldn't go away. By July I had quit my job, acquired my real estate license and was walking into my new office at Coldwell Banker Bain on Lake Union.

The time since has been a whirlwind of growth, adaptation, market forces, challenges and successes. Front of mind is always the question: does this action accomplish the best outcome for my client and respect all parties involved?

With this perspective as our guide, my business partners and I have built up a business model that takes the anxiety, pressure and confusion out of the buying and selling process. Our team keeps us ahead of the paperwork and in front of our clients. We absorb the stress as best we can, leaning on our years of experience and interpersonal skills to steady the process.

Enjoying each other is something I think that all brokers and clients should experience, so we do our best to keep some levity in the mix while managing the transfer of what is usually the largest investment a person makes in their lifetime.
